Willie Frierson

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we are still.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.

When peace like a river attendeth my way  When sorrows like sea billows roll  Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say  It is well, it is well with my soul… It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Willie Frierson who entered into eternal rest on December 15, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Frierson is survived by 2 Daughters; Valarie Luckie, Venita Johnson; 4 Sons; Willie Jr., Martin, and Reginald Frierson, and Daryl McRae; 2 Brothers; Kennedy and Roger Frierson, and a host of relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Tylertown Community Building, 339 Doc Brown Road, Raeford, NC 28376.
