In addition to the Executive Order established by Governor Cooper, FEMA is now providing financial assistance due to COVID-19 pandemic in hopes that the assistance offered will help ease some of the financial stress and burdens caused by this deadly virus which has contributed to the overwhelming grief of many families. Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is now providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.
FEMA is now accepting applications for funeral expenses paid after January 20, 2020 for deaths caused by COVID-19.
